What will I need to do as a marketing associate?
As a marketing associate you will be required to contact businesses to advertise with PCSPortico.com.
Who can work for PCSPortico.com?
You must be 16 years or older.

Do I need to fill out a job application in order to work for PCSPortico.com?
No, PCSPortico.com does not require anyone to fill out a job application. You will need to officially register as a marketing associate by providing us your name, address, phone number, social security number and email address. You will also need to provide photo identification such as your driver’s license or military I.D. or Govt. Passport. This information is not collected when you initially register on this site to define a UserID, but later in correspondence with our staff.

How much will I get paid for each ad sold?
For every ad sold your payment will be 50% - minus a 5% administrative fee - of the cost of the advertisement sold. Refer to the Ad Rates for a listing of the advertisement price list.
How does a marketing associate collect the money for an advertising ad from a business?
Currently a business has two choices to pay for their advertisement.
Once a business has signed an Agreement Contract, PCSPortico.com will send an invoice to the business. The business can either pay using a credit card through PayPal or payment can be sent by check to our company's mailing address located on their contract. A business does not need a PayPal account to pay electronically - they just need to specify PCSPortico.com's account as the receiver of funds. Electronic payments are preferred.
Marketing Associates do not have to handle money.
What do I do with the contract?
The electronic contract can be found under the resource section of the “Join our Team” link. A company can fill the contract out as a PDF fillable form. However if a computer is not readily available to do this, as a marketing associate you will be able to print the contract by using your home printer to have the business fill out and sign. If a company does not use our electronic PDF fillable online contract as a marketing associate you are responsible for scanning the contract to our PCSPortico.com accounts manager or send it by mail to our company’s address.
How long is the contract between PCSPortico.com and the business that is advertising?
The standard contract is for 1 year.
What happens when the contract is up for renewal?"
The business will be notified, by email, one month before their advertising contract is up for renewal. If a company paid for their advertisement by using the PayPal method they will be notified that if they DO NOT cancel their advertisement with PCSPortico.com they will automatically be charged for 1 more year with PCSPortico.com.
If a business paid for their advertisement by sending a check through the mail, again, they will be notified one month before their 1 year contract is up and will need to send a check by mail to PCSPortico.com’s mailing address. Once our accounts manager receives payment their contract will be renewed for 1 more year. It is ultimately up to the marketing associate to contact the business for renewal contract.
What happens to the commission when a business renews with PCSPortico.com?
If a business renews for 1 year, the marketing associate who sold the advertisement will receive 50% of the advertisement payment. YES! You will receive financial credit for 1 more year.
What do I do with the business logo?
When a business decides to advertise with PCSPortico.com they will need to provide their business logo. They can send their business logo, by email, to JJHeslen@PCSPortico.com . Once their payment has been received to our accounts manager their advertisement will appear on the installation page of choice.
How will I know what advertisement space is available on every installation page?
Finding out what advertisement space is available is as simple as going to the installation’s page to see what is already secured or available. Since standard advertisements are always available the only advertisement space that you need to worry about is the 1 large overhead banner (located at the top of the installation page) and the side banners which are 5 available advertisement spaces on the right side of the installation page and 5 available advertisement spaces on the left side of the installation page. There is only 1 top (large) banner and 10 total side banners available on every installation page with unlimited standard advertisement space.
How will I know if I received credit for an Ad?
On the business contract there will be a section designated for your name as the marketing associate.
PCS Portico will send an electronic invoice to your email account once they receive payment from a business.
When will I get paid?
When you fill out the marketing associate registration form under “Join our Team” you will be able to designate how often you would like to be paid. Currently you can decide to be paid bi-monthly or on a monthly basis based on the amount of recorded advertisements sold.
How can I request a PCSPortico.com email account?
As a marketing associate you can request an email account only if you have received credit for 5 advertisements. Refer to the “Join our Team” link under Job Kit and Resource Reference.
How do I get business cards?
As a marketing associate you can purchase business cards through our affiliate printing company with PCSPortico.com’s logo. You can find more details by going to the “Join our Team” link under Job Kit and Resource Reference.
Do you need to have marketing experience in order to work for PCSPortico.com?
No. PCSPortico.com is looking for marketing associates who can work well with others and treat everyone with respect. We have designed our job kit and resource aid to help all our marketing associates succeed!
PCSPortico.com is not only committed to supporting its military communities we are also committed to all of our marketing associates reach their potential goal.
What types of businesses can I approach?
A marketing associate can approach any kind of business. For a business category list refer to the home page under: Resources Available in Each Location.
Will I have to make cold calls?
No. We do not ask that any of our marketing associates exclusively make cold calls to various businesses. We want every marketing associate to do what makes them comfortable. There are many ways to approach businesses to advertise with PCSPortico.com. For example, a marketing associate can email business owners or managers with advertisement information, or they can approach an owner or manager in person, or a marketing associate can also make cold calls. We would like to stress that cold calls should only be made to set up an appointment to meet with a manager or business owner in person. Refer to our Job Kit and resource aid under “Join our Team” for tips on email writing, telephone script and responses, hints for calling success, strategies for making a good impression, strategies through the internet, and paying attention to your clients.
What kind of marketing support will I get?
Every marketing associate will receive support through our marketing department. We want every marketing associate to succeed! Refer to our Job Kit and Resource Reference for a complete listing of materials you can download or use as reference.
Is there a Quota?
No. PCSPortico.com does not require a quota from any marketing associate. This is what’s so great about our company! As a marketing associate you are your own boss. It is truly up to you of how much you want to earn through our company. You will succeed if you work hard.
Do I have to work 40 hours a week?
No. As a marketing associate you can make your own work schedule.
Will I be restricted to only approach businesses at or around the military installation I live near?
No. Every marketing associate can approach any business located any where near a military installation.
What percentage of my sale will go to charity?
PCSPortico.com is committed to making military communities better for families. For every sale through PCSPortico.com, $10.00 will go to each Military Branch Aid and Relief Society.
Will I receive a W-2 Form at the beginning of each calendar year to report my income with PCSPortico.com?
You will receive a Tax Form 1099 at the beginning of a new calendar year only if your earnings with PCSPortico.com were over $600.00. If your earnings were under the amount of $600.00 you will not receive a W-2 Form from PCSPortico.com. Despite your earnings with PCSPortico.com, you are considered an individual contractor. You will need to keep track of your income received throughout the year to claim and report it on your taxes. Refer to the Job Kit & Resource Reference for tips on how to organize your receipts.
What can I claim on my annual income taxes?
If you decide to itemize your income taxes you can claim all businesses expenditures such as: business cards, postage, gasoline, oil changes, car mileage, phone bills, internet monthly costs, computer equipment, printer ink cartridges, pens, pencils, printer paper, business faxes, etc.
Only if those expenditures are directly related to your contracting home-based business can you claim them on your income taxes.

What are the guidelines of PCSPortico.com?
PCSPortico reserves the right to ask a marketing associate to leave if an investigation shows that an illegal or unethical act has been conducted. PCSPortico.com upholds its ethical standards to the highest level of professionalism. Our company’s future depends on how we conduct ourselves at every level of the corporation.
Does PSCPortico.com offer incentives?
Yes! PCSPortico.com will keep track of their leading marketing associates. At the end of the year PCSPortico.com will announce the winners and send those winners their certificates and awards. Throughout the year PCSPortico.com will have quarterly prize promotions that everyone can participate and compete.
What are my potential earnings with PCSPortico.com?
Every marketing associate has the same potential to do very well with PCSPortico.com!
For example: If a marketing associate receives 1000 standard advertisement contracts with various businesses their commission yearly payment will be $45,000.00 …..Note: This example is only based on standard advertisement contracts. The banner advertisements and large side advertisements have more earning potential.
Is a Marketing Associate an Employee of PCSPortico.com or an Independent Contractor?
A PCSPortico.com Marketing Associate is an Independent Contractor. For federal tax purposes, this is an important distinction. Worker classification affects how you pay your federal income tax, social security and Medicare taxes, and how you file your tax return. This classification affects your tax responsibilities.
As a PCSPortico.com Marketing Associate, you will be given generalized resources (such as a sales kit or portfolio) and instructions on how to market advertising for the website. Our PCSPortico.com Marketing department will be available to you, providing help and suggestions via e-mail. You control which companies and organizations you will market to, and when and how much time you devote to these activities.
You will not be reimbursed for business expenses, nor will you be provided benefits such as insurance, pension or paid leave. You will be responsible for paying your own income tax, as PCSPortico.com will not withhold taxes from your earnings. On the plus side, you may choose to claim your business expenses on your income taxes to mitigate taxes on your earnings.
As these facts classify you as an Independent Contractor for IRS tax purposes, PCSPortico.com will be required to you complete IRS Form W-9, Request for Taxpayer Identification Number and Certification, and will be kept on file for at least four years for reference in case of any questions from you or the IRS. If you earn $600 or more from us, PCSPortico.com will send you an IRS Form 1099-MISC by January 31st of the year following payment, with a copy of the form due to the IRS by 28 February of the year following payment.

Can I add PCSPortico.com to my resume?
